In-keeping with their corporate social responsibility values, Inner City Environmental Limited gave local Scouts a helping hand to clear asbestos from their hall grounds, last Friday. Marketing & Bid manager, Alan Knight along with project administrator, Lilly Clark arranged for a specialist engineer to attend the headquarters of 9th Dartford Scout Group, in Heath Lane, to safely remove and dispose of seven asbestos sheets.
Group Scout Leader, Neil Gearing had contacted local asbestos removal companies for assistance and was very pleased to hear from Inner City Environmental Limited who offered their experience and expertise to undertake this task for free.
The Scout Troop of 11 to 14 year olds, took a keen interest in the asbestos removal and asked questions about the hazardous material – all from a safe distance. Once the sheets were safely removed, the Scouts were happy to be photographed alongside ICE’s vehicle, and to thank the engineer for his time. Observing the current covid-19 restriction those Scouts aged 11 year and above wore masks, and all maintained social distancing apart from the 30 seconds photo-shoot.
“It is great to see local business, like ICE, are willing to support Scouting in Dartford by using their skills and expertise for the benefit of young people. 9th Dartford are very grateful to all at Inner City Environmental Limited for arranging the removal of the asbestos in such a short space of time” said Neil Gearing.
