Inner City Environmental (ICE) was appointed by Ardmore to carry out asbestos remediation works at 1–5 London Wall, a prominent commercial development in the heart of the City of London. The works formed part of a major refurbishment programme, requiring precise coordination with other trades and strict adherence to health and safety protocols.
Scope of Works
- Refurbishment and demolition asbestos surveys
- Licensed removal of asbestos-containing materials (ACMs)
- Enclosure setup and negative pressure units
- Air monitoring and clearance certification
- Integration with Ardmore’s construction programme
Challenges
The site’s central London location and multi-storey layout presented logistical challenges, including restricted access and coordination with multiple contractors. ICE worked to a phased schedule to align with Ardmore’s programme, ensuring asbestos risks were safely managed without impacting progress.
Outcome
All asbestos remediation works were completed safely, on time, and in full compliance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. ICE’s collaborative approach supported Ardmore’s delivery schedule and ensured the site was fully prepared for the next phase of refurbishment.
