Inner City Environmental (ICE) was appointed to carry out asbestos remediation works across multiple Kent Police sites as part of a planned maintenance and upgrade programme. The works were delivered in live operational environments, requiring careful coordination to ensure continuity of police services and public safety.
Scope of Works
- Refurbishment and demolition surveys
- Licensed and non-licensed asbestos removal
- Enclosure setup and airlock systems
- Air monitoring and clearance certification
- Out-of-hours working to minimise disruption
Challenges
The works were carried out across several active police stations and operational buildings, requiring ICE to work discreetly and flexibly around sensitive areas. Security protocols, restricted access zones, and the need for minimal disruption to frontline services added complexity to the programme.
Outcome
ICE successfully completed all remediation works on schedule and in full compliance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. The project was delivered with zero incidents, maintaining operational continuity across all sites and supporting Kent Police’s estate improvement programme.
